Beginning Of Summer

So I've made a vow this summer not to spend my free time hunched over my turntables churning out freestyle mixes for KTU. The past two summers have been lousy weather-wise and boring overall. There's nothing like rain 20 out of the 31 days in August. This year, so far the weather has been warm, the sun has been out and I've been determined to be out of the house enjoying it for all its worth. Federico is home permanently now, which is nice, as his house is always one of our main destinations to hang out in (an ongoing tradition for quite some time now). Jay and I have scrapped our Saturday night clubbing escapades for hanging out in Chris and Michelle's backyard playing Texas Hold Em with his crew. We drink (alot), we gamble and we have a good time. It's usually cool enough at night that it's more than pleasant to sit out, and the tiki torches do a pretty good job of keeping the mosquitos at bay. I won twice so far, so I've netted about 90$, which I'm sure won't happen again anytime soon the way my luck goes.

Federico's brother picked me up fireworks in Pennsylvania tonight, so that was a major score, as the 4th is never the same without bottle rockets and firecrackers. Financially, I'm still hurting, but I should have my raise sometime in July. Once again, 40K here I come. Maybe even 45K if I can really push myself. Training is going well too. I continue to see good results and Mikey is a decent trainer, although he lacks what we call...uh...a basic personality. But it's all good. I'm not there to socialize. As long as he makes me look good.

Well...it's 1:30. I gotta get to bed, but I'm glad I took a couple of minutes tonight to update this. I saw Batman Begins tonight (good movie) and I saw Land Of the Dead on Friday (fucking amazing movie). Hopefully I'll get to see War Of the Worlds this weekend, as it looks pretty good (although I really can't stand that moron Tom Cruise).
