Another Day Another Dollar

So here I am again from the DJ booth at Aqua. All during the week, while I do nothing at work, I try my best to remember to write in my blog, but I always wind up having to do something super important, like send an email or sift through a pile of papers. But at Aqua I have a full 8 hours to do nothing while a pre-mixed CD plays for 8 hours to a room of 9 people. Seriously- this Friday night shit has to end. If he doesn’t move to get a promoter like now, I’m going to ask if I can do some Saturdays, where there is a crowd. In this week’s hilarity, the crazy obnoxious man who always asks me to play his Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliot CD has come in with a tambourine, where he is now wandering around the club…waving it…constantly…for the past 45 minutes that I’ve been writing this off and on. I want to go home. Otherwise, things are going okay. I have finally started to purchase things for the new apartment, which I will hopefully be living in full time by next week. I got a great deal on a used black leather couch from some woman on Craigslist- who sold it to me for 85$. I paid more to get the U-Haul to pick it up in than I did for the couch itself. I also bought a TV at Best Buy with Gelo last night. I wound up getting the same one that Jay has, as it was on sale for $450 from $579. I’m becoming quite the bargain hunter in my old age. Tomorrow I will probably try to convince Dad to help me take some of the heavy shit out of the basement and into the apartment. Sunday I’m going to IKEA to buy the coffee table, end tables and bookshelf to accommodate all my 12” records (no more milk crates lining the walls!). Finally I will have a place to call my own (somewhat) and I’ll get a break from the continuing overbearence of the parents, a much deserved break. I’ve been working out with James like crazy- as well as starting to do cardio again (ugh) and taking some cool new supplements that will help me pack on a couple of pounds of muscle hopefully. Work is eh. Tara is gone, and today Cheryl told us she’s leaving, as she got a great job over at Ericsson. Now that she’s gone, it’s just me, Ross and the new girl that starts on Monday (who I can already tell I don’t like). I really think the ball is gonna drop over at Diggit sometime soon. When Bill finds out he’s losing Cheryl, I wouldn’t be surprised if that expediates the process. He’s becoming more unhinged as the weeks go by, and the mere sight of him is enough to incite major eye rolling. I think he’s starting to realize just how much he’s losing his grip on this sinking mobile endevour. I wonder if Hosh sees it. I should probably tell him. He’s too busy doing 50 million different things anyway, leaving me plenty of time to sit online and browse through MySpace- probably the most addicting website I’ve ever been to. More on that later. I’ve been stressing a little bit about money lately- as my bank account has dwindled considerably and my spending has become extravagant- between the new apartment, the personal trainer, etc… Hopefully once my tax check comes (god damn me for not e-filing it) it will alleviate some of the problem. Let’s see…other important things in my life. Oh- so Jay is good. I love him more and more every time I see him- even though he drives me up the wall sometimes. PJ was home from Iraq for 2 weeks, so it was nice to see him still safe and healthy- and he says he will be home for good before Christmastime, which is really nice. My mother started taking anti-depressants last week (because I’m gay, etc…) so hopefully the Wellbutrin will bring us some chemical relief from her emotionally-charged antics. So besides the fear that the shoe will drop on my job and, therefore, my income, things are going good.

It’s finally getting warm out (although it was cold today) and I’m looking forward to the summertime.

I officially hate the sound of a tambourine.
